From now until November, it seems like Austin is having a film festival every week, sometimes overlapping. As we mentioned earlier,
this week's high-profile festival is QT-6, the sixth not-quite-annual Quentin
Tarantino Film Fest playing Sept. 9-17 at Alamo Drafthouse Downtown.
The nine-day passes sold out far too quickly ... as someone who spent a
very tense early morning on the phone trying in vain to buy one, I
should know. However, you can still buy single-movie passes at the door
for $10 cash. Each night has a theme, like "Sexploitation Night" and
"Grindhouse Triple Feature." Austin Film Society has posted as complete
a list of themes and films as is possible.
