The newly-formed Weinstein Company's early slate is getting off to a roaring start with a pair of films starring...Rosario Dawson. The first, an Elmore Leonard adaptation (he wrote the books on which Get Shorty, Out of Sight, and Jackie Brown were based, among others) called Killshot, is about a couple in the witness protection program. The Weinsteins are close to adding Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Johnny Knoxville to the cast, which already includes both Dawson and Diane Lane. Proof director (and sometime-football analyst) John Madden will be behind the wheel. Additionally, Rosario will star in the idiotic-from-the-word-go The Passion of the Clerks, Kevin Smith's latest exercise in self-congratulation. In that one she'll be hanging out with the whole Clerks crew, including the now totally off probation Jason Mewes.
