The Last UnicornHere's the scuttlebutt: Boing Boing posted a letter from Connor Cochran, business manager of The Last Unicorn author Peter S.Beagle. In the letter, Cochran alleges Granada Media, the company which bought the animation rights to The Last Unicorn and turned it into the 1982 Rankin/Bass production, have not paid the author his share from  DVDs, videos, and cable and satellite deals.

Several sites and message boards are calling out for support of the author, who, Cochran says, has no choice but to take Granada to court to get them to pay up, but can't afford to do so. In the meantime, a live-action version is currently under development (Granada sold the rights for $250,000) and should be released next year.
