Al Pacino; SerpicoI don't know how I've missed this until now, but in addition to everything already happening with the NYFF, there are a couple of great film events taking place this weekend for New Yorkers. Firstly, tomorrow night the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens is hosting a screening Sidney Lumet'sSerpico, followed by a discussion with Lumet himself. Then, after taking a night to recover, you can head over to Manhattan's Florence Gould Hall to see a preview screening of Where the Truth Lies. If you can handle the NC-17 madness, stick around after the movie, because Atom Egoyan will be joined by producer Robert Lantos for a public discussion of the film - you can hear him talk about the thrusting issues in person.

Both screenings are at 7pm; for tickets and further information call The Museum of the Moving Image at 718.784.4520. I called at about 3:30pm on Tuesday, and tickets were still available to both events, but I can't imagine they'll be around for long.
