The Deer HunterAt the age of 77, screenwriter Louis Alan Garfinkle has died from complications of Parkinson's disease. The Oscar-nominated scribe behind such films like The Deer Hunter,Face of Fire, The Doberman Gang and Little Cigars was also known as the co-creator behind one of the first computer screenwriting programs. Collaborator was a program used throughout Hollywood in the early 1990s that posed questions in order to help shape treatments and define characters. The Deer Hunter won 5 Oscars in 1978 including Best Picture and scarred me, at a very young age, from anything having to do with Russian Roulette.
