It's been reported that roving conspiracy theorist (and I say that with lots of love) Oliver Stone will next take on the story of General George Armstrong Custer, he of The Last Stand fame. Stone is attached - as both director and executive producer - to a film version of the recent Custer bio, Son of the Morning Star. Interestingly, this is the second time that the director has been connected with a Custer project. Last time he was hoping to adapt a Custer novel, Marching to Valhalla, with Brad Pitt in the starring role. This time, the script is reported to be "more of a political thriller than a Western," which sounds like the sort of thing that Stone could really sink his awesomely crazy teeth into. Plus - history! I love it already.
