No doubt part of the effort to reflect the advancing age of its protagonist (how old is Daniel Radcliffe now? 27?), Mike Newell's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will include cameo appearances from several British rock sorta-stars. Jarvis Cocker (the often-bespectacled frontman of Pulp) will join Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway, Add N to (X)'s Steve Claydon, and producer Jason Buckle in the film. The britpopsters play - wait for it - a rock band which performs at Hogwart's winter formal, the Yule Ball. The supergroup composed three songs for the film – Do the Hippogriff, This Is the Night and Magic Works. You can download This is the Nighthere. It's ... uh ... interesting. I'm all about the idea of Jarvis doing an Arthur Lee impression over some kind of cosmic-disco backdrop, but I'm having trouble imagining this song – which seems to not even have a time signature – serving as soundtrack to Harry and Hermoine's wizardly adventures.
