• Paramount and Matthew Vaughn are in talks for the Layer Cake helmer/Claudia Schiffer hubby to produce and direct a feature based on Neil Gaiman's Stardust. Vaughn has already adapted Gaiman's "adult fairy tale" with partner Jane Goldman; he also contributed to the script for Robert Zemeckis' Beowulf.
  • Warner Brothers made a huge move yesterday, consolidating its home entertainment, Internet, wireless, games and various other digital operations into one unit. The sweep has made home video president Jim Cardwell extraneous.
  • Aaron Eckhart, who proved himself the go-to guy for boyfriend roles in Erin Brockovich, has joined the cast of Martha, the Catherine Zeta-Jones-starring remake of the 2001 German film, Mostly Martha. He'll play an up-and-coming chef who gets cocky with Cathy (all puns intended).
  • Cabin Fever director Eli Roth has found a distributor for his second film, Hostel. Lion's Gate will release the horror pic, which has inexplicably been the center of much fanboy chatter for months.
