Owen WilsonCan you believe it? A remake that's actually NOT happening - at least for a while. Though Owen Wilson agreed this summer to play the title role in Paramount's remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, his casting was contingent upon finding a female costar. A screen test with Scarlett Johansson reportedly went well earlier this month, but so far nothing has been made official. Meanwhile, the Butterscotch Stallion suddenly bailed on the movie for an unstated reason.

Though Johansson is still interested and Zach Braff has been mentioned as a replacement for Wilson, the project is officially "in turnaround." Which, though it literally sounds sort of encouraging, actually means that it's been put on a back-burner, and that getting it into production is not currently a priority for Paramount. It's a very sad day for the three people whose lives remakes make worth living.
