We have a regular column here called Hollywood Truths, but this fascinating piece by Edward Jay Epstein over at Slate clues us in to the many lies that Hollywood has been serving out for years. Everything from the amount of money a movie makes (or doesn't make) and publicty stunts to making up dead ex-wives for gay actors.

Unlike the author I don't see anything wrong with creating a fake corporation site for a movie like The Manchurian Candidate, but I did find interesting his jab at Hollywood stars who go on talk shows and tell fake anecdotes just to sell a picture.
