Attorney and producer Maurice Rosenfield, the man who gave Robert DeNiro one his earliest roles in the independent film Bang the Drum Slowly, passed away on October 30 at the age of 91. Rosenfield was mostly known for producing Broadway shows, and as a lawyer made a name for himself in the 60s with such clients as Playboy and comedian Lenny Bruce, both of which he defended successfully. He was also the general manager of WAIT 820 AM in Chicago. His wife, Lois Rosenfield, who passed away two years ago, also served as a producer on Bang the Drum Slowly.
