IndieWIRE Undiscovered GemsIndieWIRE decided that it's not enough to publish a yearly list of excellent unreleased films, and therefore initiated a film festival to screen a half-dozen of the best recent ones in theaters around the country. The Undiscovered Gems Film Festival is touring nine cities in the next couple of months—not just the obvious big cities like San Francisco and New York, but also Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Wilmington, Delaware.

I'm sorry the movies won't make it to Austin, but one of selections is already well known to local film buffs: Dear Pillow, which played a number of film festivals around the world, including SXSW, and had a three-week run at Alamo Drafthouse last year. Dear Pillow is the only one of the Undiscovered Gems films I've seen. If the other films are all as good, this will a film festival you shouldn't miss if it's in your part of the country.
