The Hollywood Reporter says Gold Circle Films has bought Greg Erb and Jason Oremland's pitch Creature Feature, a story described as belonging to the “light horror” genre. The story follows the film making adventures of a 13 year old boy, who enjoys creating his own horror flicks. Eventually the boy finds a mysterious camera that brings his movie creations to life. Wacky horrific antics ensue.
Is it just me, or does this sound like the plot of an old R.L. Stine novel? I just can’t imagine this being a good film…but then, I never liked R.L. Stine novels as a kid. Maybe the movie will have some sort of appeal to the same crowd that made Stine so popular for awhile. Who wants to place bets on the totally unexpected and last minute creepy plot turn that the movie ends on?
