Albert BrooksIn an incredibly clever bit of marketing, Albert Brooks' already controversial Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World will have its world premiere at the Dubai Internation Film Festival on December 15. Though the movie is set exclusively in Indian and Pakistan, the dominant religion of Dubai is Islam, so the film is sure to garner tremendous interest there.

In addition to serving the purposes of both Brooks and the film's US distributor (Warner Indepenent Pictures) by bringing further attention to the film, the premiere is also a huge coup for the festival, which is only in its second year. Credit to Brooks and Warner's - this is a pretty ballsy way to kickstart a movie that its director hopes will successfully "tackle many of the prejudices surrounding the Muslim world."
