Anthony HopkinsAnthony Hopkins, an actor who surely never thought that he would be known to the world primarily as a psychotic-yet-charming killer, will receive a lifetime achievement award at this year's Golden Globe Awards. The Cecil B. DeMille award is given each year in recognition of "outstanding contributions to the entertainment field"; recent recipients include Barbra Streisand, Robin Williams, and Al Pacino.

The Hollywood Foreign Press have always been quite fond of Hopkins, and have nominated him six times for major awards. That said, I guess they don't like him THAT much, because he's never won. Perhaps this is their way of apologizing for not giving him the trophy for Nixon.
