Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith took a surprising tumble from the first place DVD sales and rental pedestal after only one week at the top. Who delivered the smackdown? Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring Johnny Depp (who, according to People Magazine, is NOT the Sexiest Man Alive - at least not this year). IMDB reports that Depp's version of reclusive candyman Willy Wonka beat out Christensen's tormented Jedi in both sales and rentals. Apparently everybody loves chocolate -- even the older version, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder, is seventh on DVD sales charts. Not bad for a 34-year-old movie.
Which did you like better: Hayden Christensen's moody portrayal of the doomed Anakin Skywalker (just ignore those laughable "love scenes" between Anakin and Padme)? Or Johnny Depp's take on Willy Wonka?
