Jim Caviezel is in talks to join Denzel Washington in the cast of upcoming sci-fi(ish) action-thriller Déjà vu. The drama centers around a terrorist (played by J.C.) who blows up a ferry. An FBI agent (obviously played by Denzel) then travels back in time to stop the act of terror, apparently because a woman he loved was onboard the ferry. One would think that if you had the ability to time travel, saving several dozen (or hundred) lives would be reason enough, whether or not a loved one was included in the lot. Tony Scott will direct from a script by Terry Rossio and Bill Marsilli.Jerry Bruckheimer will produce.

Time traveling cops – what a very unique concept! Clichéd story or not, Washington is a tremendous actor and nearly always enjoyable to watch. As far as I’m concerned, his presence alone gives the movie at least a minimum amount of potential. I don’t have much of an opinion on Jimmy C; I enjoyed The Passion, but that was for reasons other than the acting talent involved. I seem to recall liking his performance in Frequency – other than that he hasn’t left much of an impact with me. Any suggestions for Caviezel movies I should check out?
