Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark I hope you'll excuse me for going all VH1 on you with that title, but I just had to do it. C'mon, it's the 80's dude! It pains me that people crap on the 80's the way they do. Heck, I grew up with Michael Jackson and President Reagan, spent those lonely childhood mornings with Fraggle Rock and Mr. Rogers and fell real hard for Debbie Gibson and Tiffany (both of whom wanted to marry me but, alas, I was too young at the time.) That's right - I love the 80's! Although she'll never admit it, my mother will always regret the day she first took me to a movie theater. After that first film, I harassed the woman day and night to bring me back. I was addicted. I was a mess. I still am. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that the films listed below are highly regarded as great films, however, I selected them for many reasons. First off, they changed me. They helped me discover emotions I hadn't felt before. Sure it's sappy and pathetic (to some), but when times were tough, they helped me escape. It's through these movies that I remember my past; after all, I've never been much of a photo album guy. So, in my opinion, here are seven movies that totally rocked the 80's:
