John SingletonJohn Singleton, whose crappy movies I will always forgive because he made Boyz n the Hood, is in negotiations with Paramount to direct a film set in the Afghan war zone. The movie, called Convoy, is described as an action film (oh goody) that "revolves around a group of U.S. truck drivers who make a one-year commitment to drive goods for U.S. contractors" because, like most drivers there, they need the money.

Despite his responsibility for Poetic Justice (and that weird Egypt-themed video for Remember the Time), Paramount are Singleton fans right now because his Four Brothers quietly earned them about $75 million this past summer.
