So much for the Big Fake Gorilla saving Hollywood. Peter Jackson's little monkey movie had a pretty disappointing opening day on Wednesday, raking in just $9.7 million on over 3,500 screens in the US. That's about half of what the first Lord of the Rings movie made on its opening Wednesday four years ago. At this rate, the film will only gross about $50 million by Monday - about ten million less than what Narnia scraped together in its first three days last week. What do you think – will the fans rally, or will Kong fall flat?
