Morgan Spurlock, the first-time director whose Hazards of Fast Food documentarySuper Size Me both disgusted and fascinated movie audiences last year, has chosen his next film project. This time, Spurlock will present an adaptation of Chris Mooney's bestseller, The Republican War on Science. In his book, Mooney "uses interviews and old-fashioned document-digging to explain how, over two decades, right-wing politicians" have created a government that "has largely turned its back on science." (According to a reviewer at Amazon, Mooney's work is actually "less partisan than it sounds," though one can be forgiven for jumping to conclusions, what with the title and all.) Sounds like a good fit - plus, this time Spurlock won't have to destroy his health to make this movie. Unless he plans to, like, ingest pollutants, or something.
