It would seem that the old adage, "Comedy equals tragedy plus time" (which is considerably less well-known than "Comedy equals toddler plus wiffle ball bat plus father's crotch") now applies to the L.A. riots of 1992. Rapper Snoop Dogg (née Calvin Broadus) narrates (and performs music for) The L.A. Riot Spectacular, an no-choke-holds-barred spoof in the tradition of The Underground Comedy Movie. The movie also stars T.K. Carter as Rodney King, the little-seen Emilio Estevez as Officer Powell, Christopher McDonald as Officer Koon and Charles Dutton as "The Mayor", and has played festivals all year (including Tribeca in the spring), and is not yet available on DVD.
