Even though at least one member of the Scooby Doo gang is down for another go-round, that may not be enough to get a third film into theaters. Linda Cardellini, who plays Velma in the film, told MTV that she "had the time of my life making those movies." Heck, all that time spent with Freddie and Sarah Michelle would have me jumping through happy hoops as well. She adds, "Every six months or so, I hear a whisper or a murmur that there will be another [sequel]."

Velma's in, so what's the problem? Well, it appears as if everyone else (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddy Prinze Jr., Matthew Lillard and writer James Gunn) have all jumped ship, leaving this one seemingly without enough star power for a theatrical release. So if there is another film (Scooby Doo 3: Velma and Scooby search for their missing cast members?), it's more than likely that Warners will continue the series through the ever-evolving straight-to-dvd market.
