Described by one news outlet as "the only exciting awards show so far," the Adult Video News Awards were handed out at a star-studded ceremony in Las Vegas last night. Among the luminaries making appearances was the great Ron Jeremy who, though he didn't win anything, was on hand to assure fans that he's not going to retire any time soon. "As long as the penis works," he said, "I'm going to exploit it." Whew. I don't know about you, but that's a load off my mind.

When the time came to actually hand out the awards, Manuel Ferrara was named best actor, while Savanna Samson took home the trophy for best actress. Pirates, the night's most nominated picture, won best video, and The Devil in Miss Jones (a remake, no less) was named best film. Sadly, there were no gay cowboys in sight. (And, lest we turn up our noses too far at pornography, it's worth noting that, while Hollywood took in $8.9 billion in theaters last year, adult entertainment as a whole made upwards of $12.5 billion.)
