Oh wow, a Clerks 2 teaser with actual footage from - deep breath - Clerks 2! Except for the last few seconds of the trailer (in which we get a snazzy LOTR reference), there's no dialogue here - just a bunch of quick shots cut to heavy metal. Frankly, I'd be pretty excited right now if I didn't feel like we've spent 5 films with these characters. Okay, maybe just a couple of them, though there's something holding me back. Something. Or nothing. Not sure, I haven't decided yet.

Clerks 2 picks up 10 years after the first film, where we immediately find out the characters haven't moved on...yet. According to Quentin Tarantino (who watched the film with Robert Rodriguez to give Kevin Smith some notes), this one seems to have more of a story, whereas the first one felt like a bunch of tiny vignettes. Tarantino was also hopping around on the couch, speaking a mile a minute and repeating the same thing over and over again as if someone had just injected caffeine straight into his neck - so I'm not so sure you should take his word for it. Clerks 2 is due out this summer...we think.
