Like everyone else, I read Beowulf in high school. And the main thing I remember from the story is some sort of huge battle in an underwater cave - the entire thing seemed like a big, fantastic adventure. So, here's my question: did I make it up? Am I thinking of some other weird book we were forced to read? Because, based on the trailer for Sturla Gunnarsson's Beowulf & Grendel (not to be confused with just plain Beowulf, which Robert Zemeckis is making), it's a very realistic story that features no underwater fighting whatsoever. Either way, I'm disappointed. Perhaps I'm not the target audience (Actually, who the hell is?!), but apart from a single, weird moment of humor, the trailer makes the movie look dark, boring, and grim - and I'm even a huge, huge fan of co-star Stellan Skarsgård. Assuming the goal of trailers is to get butts in the seats, this one strikes me as an epic failure.

Are any of you even interested in this movie? (If you are, you may be out of luck - it still doesn't have US distribution.) What do you think?
