So, the trailer for Silent Hill - the latest non-Uwe Boll (as of this AM, by the way, BloodRayne is #19 in the IMDB's bottom 100) video game movie - is up. Since I know nothing about the game, it didn't seem as zombie-ified as the early stills did to Mark, which is too bad, because a few zombies have never hurt a movie. It does look plenty scary, though I have no idea what the hell is going on. There was a fire a long time ago in Silent Hill (was it called that before the fire?), apparently, which must have something to do with the fact that the snow is actually ash. And Radha Mitchell's daughter disappears there, which probably explains why she doesn't just call AAA to come fix her car and take her home. Beyond that, though, there's just a lot of vague scary - ghosts, random white creatures underground, and not nearly enough Sean Bean.

The movie was written by Roger Avary (that's good, right?), and opens in the US on April 21, at which point we'll surely hear the official gamer response regarding the film's success. Anyone who wants to speculate about its quality based on the trailer, however, is welcome to speak up now.
