Awhile back, I reported on news that a Friday the 13th prequel was in the works. I also warned you it would not be long before our friends Freddy and Michael leaped on the bandwagon. Heck, maybe I should change careers and become a psychic because, according to Freddy himself (Robert Englund), that's exactly where they're thinking of taking the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise next.

Speaking to Bloody Disgusting, Englund confessed he's involved in, not one, but two seperate Elm Street projects. "New Line is committed to making at least one more Freddy movie. They have commissioned both a prequel and Freddy vs. Jason vs. Michael Myers. No word on which one they will actually make or when." All I can say is wow. For the first time in a long while, I think I'm actually speechless. Are they serious? A Freddy vs Jason vs Michael movie? Let me get this straight: I have to slave over a cubicle for 9 hours a day, while some hack gets paid triple what I do to write this crap? Ain't life grand?

Personally, I'd much rather see them put forth an Elm Street prequel and not ruin my beloved Halloween franchise. What's worse is that Englund has mentioned before that, if Freddy were to battle Michael, there would be a good chance Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis' character in Halloween) would be involved in some capacity. Is there anyone out there that would actually prefer a Freddy vs Jason vs Michael film over an Elm Street prequel? Seriously, I want to know who not to invite over for a play date.
