The sad truth of the matter is I can't read Swedish, so I have to bring this story to you second-hand. Honestly, Google's translator just wasn't up to the task - but Superhero Hype somehow was -- I don't know...maybe they keep a Swede on staff just for such emergencies -- and so you can get the latest Deathlok news. Apparently, MovieZine.se got itself a scoop with Swedish director Mikael Håfström, and the interviewer then sent SHH a summary, in English, of the important bits. According to the writer, "I asked him about the rumors we've heard that he might direct Deathlok. He answered 'We are discussing it.'" Apparently, MH is a big Marvel fan (no surprise) and he is really impressed with the Deathlok script. He's hoping to land the directorial job after he finishes the next film on his plate.

I see a shining gem of good news here, and it doesn't really have much to do with the director. I'm not particularly pro or con Mikael Håfström, but I am definitely in favor of a solid Marvel fan saying he was very impressed with a Deathlok script. I mean, let's be honest with each other here - there are a lot of ways a Deathlok movie could go wrong. Maybe somehow we'll get lucky, and it'll be a great Marvel victory.
