Harry Potter is about to set a new record -- although this one has little to do with box office numbers. Actor
Daniel Radcliffe (of
Harry Potter fame) is soon to become
the youngest non-royal in British history to have a solo portrait hanging in the National Portrait Gallery. Radcliffe
apparently sat for the portrait -- by artist Stuart Pearson Wright -- two years ago, during a break from filming one of
the Potter flicks. Radcliffe says he loves the portrait, which will join 8 other similar images of actors (including
Parminder Nagra,
Jeremy
Irons, and
Alan Rickman) in a small exhibit in the Gallery.
Now I'm not really a patron of the arts, so my opinions on this issue are probably entirely invalid; but can
anyone seriously tell me they
wouldn't want a portrait of Alan Rickman?
