By now, I'm sure most of you have had a chance to watch the first Transformers teaser, now officially available online. For those of you who haven't seen it, I will save you time and simply sum it up using the following words: Mars rover shadow boom. Yeah, there wasn't much to go by. Unlike the Spider-Man 3 teaser (which, honestly, felt more like a trailer), Michael Bay has made it clear he wants to keep as much of his live-action version of Transformers a secret ... for now. However, over the course of the past few months, the director has had quite a taste of what the word 'secret' means on the internet.
So, in an effort to keep one step ahead of those looking to bust open his beloved Transformers flick, Bay left a note on his blog claiming the whole Mars rover thing in the teaser has nothing to do with the film itself and the footage will not be used in any way, except to lead us to believe it has something to do with the plot ... which is doesn't. The blog also notes Bay shot the Mars footage himself. What a guy -- only Michael Bay would find a way to travel to Mars in order to shoot footage that, ultimately, has nothing to do with anything. Way to go!
