I wasn't a member of the Cinematical brain-bank when Saw and Saw 2 hit the multiplexes, so I'll just get this reminder out of the way right now (and I'm sure it comes as no big shock): I'm a big fan of this series, and I feel no need to apologize for it. In a horrorworld landscape jam-packed with PG-13 pretenders and astonishingly scareless remakes, I'm just grateful for a few flicks that dole out the shocks and the splatters without the need to water things down.

So yeah, I'm looking forward to Saw 3, which was directed by the guy who helmed the sequel (Darren Bousman) and written/produced by the whole motley crew from the first two flicks. And while we wait for an "official" trailer linkage for Lionsgate's third Saw, feel free to go the YouTube route and see what all the screaming's about.

Returning for a third shriek-fest are series regulars Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith and the lovely lovely Dina Meyer, and they'll be flanked by new victims co-stars Angus Macfadyen, Bahar Soomekh and Kim Roberts. (I'll be sure to stop back in once the "authentic" trailer is linked up and available for your perusal.)

UPDATE: The trailer is now available in much cleaner form at Yahoo! Movies.
