No, we don't mean the Tom Wilson who draws Ziggy. We mean the Tom Wilson of Biff Tannen and Back to the Future fame. Can you imagine these movies without this guy? No? We couldn't either. Keep in mind that these films were directed by Robert Zemeckis, produced by Steven Spielberg, starred Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd and a time-traveling DeLorean ... and a big galoot from the 1950s manages to steal every scene he is in. Not only that, but he gets to play older Biff, young Biff, future Biff (Griff), creepy rich Biff, really old future Biff, and Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen.

I'm not sure if they wrote him into the second and third movies because he was so popular, but he became a recurring theme in all three Future movies, always being foiled by Marty and the Doc, and ending up with manure in his mouth. Need a good villain? Send in Biff. Need comic relief? It's Biff again. Creepy guy hitting on the lead's mom? Biff. I'm sure that parents everywhere thrilled when their kids started saying "What are you lookin' at, butthead?" around 1985, but it was hard not to want to imitate him. He played the part of the musclebound thug so effectively, otherwise it wouldn't have been so satisfying when Crispin Glover's George McFly popped him in the mouth, and saved Marty's very existence.

In fact, Biff was so good, that it's hard to remember that he ran with a gang. A guy with 3D glasses on all the time, another guy with a match in his mouth, and a skinhead. Little known trivia factoid: Casey Siemaszko of Young Guns and Three O'Clock High fame played 3D, and Billy Zane of Titanic played Match. Further littler known factoid: Tom and Casey both had roles on The Facts of Life, with Tom playing another big galoot named "Moose." Not sure where he stood with Mrs. Garrett.

Tom works constantly as an actor, providing both voices for animated characters, acting in front of the camera, and can be seen this season on Ted Danson's show, Help You Help Me. If you ever happen to run into Tom in real life, please don't ask him about Back to the Future. All of the information you need to know about Tom and BTTF can be found in his featured song, which is currently gracing the front page of YouTube.

Now why don't you make like a tree, and get outta here.
