It's been a little while since we've heard anything exciting from the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer people, aside from a bunch of wedding pictures on Flickr. Today, however, we break the silence with news from producer Ralph Winter, who spent some time talking with F4Movies. Here are the essentials (if you want his full comments, you can always check out the link):

  • First, and always a good sign with cast on set, everyone is in really high spirits and thoroughly enjoying themselves. This means a minimum of off-screen combat, which often results in a maximum of on-screen chemistry. This is key for a movie which features multiple "leads."
  • Principle photography is in the final weeks, and should wrap before Christmas. The third act of the film is being shot currently.
  • It is possible a trailer could hit theaters as early as next month. The editing team has been hard at work the entire time, and are finishing up some visual effects shots for the theatrical trailer. No promises yet, but stay tuned for further updates as the time draws nearer.
You all know I've got strong hopes for this film, and so hearing a trailer could be on the way makes me excited and nervous at the same time. Honestly, I expect the film to be pretty -- I'm more worried about plot and dialog than I am effects. Nonetheless, a good trailer could go a long way towards making me happy about the upcoming film.
