The advertising juggernaut for the Harry Potter franchise is moving forward with a new international poster and international website for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This poster has a much more "in your face" attitude than the most recent American counterpart that Ryan blogged about here. Unlike the rather passive figures in the U.S. version, the international poster features our heroes Harry, Ron, and Hermione aggressively pointing their magic wands at the camera, with Neville Longbottom and Ginny Weasley (fellow members of Dumbledore's Army) bringing up the rear. The blonde girl in the back I suspect may be Luna Lovegood, but I'm not positive, so someone please confirm or correct me in the comments section. Both posters are effective, but I prefer the dynamic figures of the international version.

The U.K. website goes directly into the international trailer. I don't recall seeing any dementors in the U.S. preview, but there's one here looking even more ghoulish than the ones we saw in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The site has a cool Flash design that's different from the U.S. site but is neither better nor worse. If you've downloaded all the wallpaper images from the U.S. site there's a bunch of completely different ones here as well as buddy icons and a photo gallery. Clicking on the "DA" icon (for Dumbledore's Army) takes you to a U.K. variation on the DA website that Patrick Walsh blogged about a few weeks ago where you can sign up and compete in online wizarding battles. Of course, this all serves to remind me how much I'm dying to see this flick once it hits U.S. theaters on July 13.
