Even if some purists considered the most recent big-screen adaptation of Marvel Comics' Hulk to be somewhat disappointing or in many ways not very good, Universal is still banking on the character and the franchise with another cinematic version. This time, as we've reported previously, Ed Norton will be taking on the role of "you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" Bruce Banner -- the scientist turned The Incredible Hulk -- in the new film, with scripting duties handled by X-Men: Last Stand alum Zak Penn and Transporter 2 helmer Louis Leterrier in the director's chair.

When the new film was announced, the rampant speculation about it began in earnest. Who would be the new Hulk? Who would play the love interest? Would the Hulk be green or, for some reason, grey this time? Who's the bad guy? And, as always with any new film like this, what would the story be? Well, we've had answers to some of those questions and now, thanks to Universal, we've got some info on that last one too. Over at Comic Book Movie, they are showcasing a synopsis for the next Hulk film recently released by the studio. Now, before I tell you about the synopsis and before you click on the link, keep in mind there are SPOILERS and if you don't want to know, don't read any further.

Ok, now that I've got that out of the way, I can get on with some highlights of the synopsis. Among the details revealed about the new movie are: "The explosive, action-packed adventure in one of the all-time most popular superhero sagas unfolds with a cure in reach for the world's most primal force of fury: The Incredible Hulk." Ok, sounds interesting. But wait, it gets better as "our brilliant doctor is ruthlessly pursued by The Abomination (Tim Roth) -- a nightmarish beast of pure adrenaline and aggression whose powers match The Hulk's own." And finally, as all good comic book movies must: "A fight of comic-book proportions ensues as Banner must call upon the hero within to rescue New York City from total destruction." Excellent. Come June 13, 2008 when the film hits theaters, I think I know where I'm gonna be. How about you?
