"This is just weird. This is just really weird."

And that's exactly how I felt after watching the above trailer for the new film A Necessary Death, which is premiering at the SXSW Film Festival next month. I don't want to say too much about the film, because I have a feeling it's one of those flicks where it's best not to discuss your opinion prior to watching it. Essentially, on the surface it appears to be a documentary that follows a kid who needs to make a movie for his college thesis. What he does is he puts an ad on the internet looking for someone who's set a date to commit suicide. His intentions are to follow this suicidal person around from the time they conceive of the idea to when they actually go ahead and kill themselves.

It's pretty warped to say the least, especially the part where the dude is trying to decide who to follow around by figuring out which person he thinks is serious enough to actually go through with the deadly deed. But is it real? Is it fake? That's all part of the mystery. Needless to say, we'll definitely be checking this one out when we arrive in Austin. For more on our pre-SXSW coverage, head over here.
