It might seem like this latest bit of news is coming out of a rekindled flame. John Ritter has been in the news a lot lately, as his family is suing for wrongful death, and you can read about it here. So now we're getting more simple rules, but they're coming from W. Bruce Cameron's next book, which hits shelves on April 8 -- 8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter: And Other Reasonable Advice from the Father of the Bride (Not that Anyone is Paying Attention).

The Hollywood Reporter posts that this new book is already getting the big-screen treatment with the help of The Devil Wears Prada producer Wendy Finerman. The book has been optioned by 26 Films, and Cameron will adapt it with co-writer Cathryn Michon. This should be old hat for the writer, as he also wrote 17 episodes of the television show.

It looks like things didn't go well for dad after the first set of rules -- now he is divorced and dealing not only with a younger girlfriend, but two daughters who get engaged at the same time. Not much more is said on Amazon, except that it's only one daughter, so I wonder if the young girlfriend and second daughter will be cinematic plot devices? Stay tuned!
