The first bit of concept art forTerminator Salvation: The Future Begins (aka Terminator 4) has been released (see above; click to enlarge), and it's supposed to show a post-judgment day Los Angeles. The image (which looks pretty damn cool, mind you) was revealed over at the film's official website in the form of a new production blog written by McG. In it, he says, "We've officially started principal photography on Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. Like you guys, I've been a long-time fan of the series and I understand your passion for the Terminator movies -- and it's my full intention to deliver a film that lives up to the previous three installments. I've spent time with James Cameron, spoken to Arnold Schwarzenegger, gone over the story with Jonah Nolan, and enlisted Stan Winston."
McG continues to talk a bit about the casting and how they've started principal photography by shooting a sequence at Griffith Observatory with Anton Yelchin (Kyle Reese) and Sam Worthington (Marcus). As you know, Christian Bale will be playing an adult John Connor, who, in the future, helps lead a resistance against the robots. Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins kicks off a set of three films (all starring Bale), with the first arriving in theaters on May 22, 2009.
Whaddya think of the concept art?
