David Cronenberg's 'Videodrome' is getting an update. The 1983 thriller, about a TV network head who makes his channel relevant by programming a series that depicts torture and murder, will be modernized to incorporate the possibilities of nanotechnology and is being planned as more of a big-scale sci-fi actioner than the original.

In other news, Cheryl Hines' black comedy 'Serious Moonlight' and the supernatural drama 'The Eclipse' may become the first two films to sell at the Tribeca Film Festival since 2005; and Maria Bello has joined 'Company Men' Ben Affleck and Kevin Costner in an indie drama about the effects of corporate downsizing.
