If you've ever wanted to go toe-to-toe with Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still or get up close and personal with Robby the Robot from Forbidden Planet, now is your chance.

Underwire has a rundown of the roboworld exhibition at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, which opened this past Saturday, and its all-star robot line-up. The exhibit features the original Maria (pictured at right) from Fritz Lang's 1927 film Metropolis, as well as replicas of this year's Robot Hall of Fame inductees, the T-800 Terminator and the trio of 'bots from Silent Running, Huey, Dewy, and Louie. You'll also be able to check out Robby, Gort, R2-D2 and C-3PO, and 2001: A Space Odyssey's Hal 9000.

Do you think Michael Bay's urinating robot Bumblebee will ever find itself in such respectable company? I mean, other inductees do include the iRobot Roomba. What about the oft-overlooked Johnny Five? Personally, I nominate sexy replicants Pris and her BF Roy Batty from Blade Runner, the slightly creepy yet soothing GERTY from Moon, and the tear-jerking Iron Giant. What about you?
