When Michael Jackson tragically passed away on June 25, he was just weeks away from launching a sold-out 50-show concert series, entitled 'This Is It,' at London's O2 Arena. But the more than 1 million people who got tickets -- as well as everyone who didn't -- will still get a glimpse of the glorious comeback that could have been when the concert documentary 'Michael Jackson's This Is It' hits theaters worldwide for a limited two-week engagement beginning Oct. 28.

Culled from more than 100 hours of rehearsal footage filmed at L.A.'s Staples Center between April and June 2009 and directed by Kenny Ortega ('High School Musical'), the doc offers fans an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the King of Pop. Viewers will get to see MJ as he conceives of and executes full song-and-dance numbers from the show (including what we hear is a kick-ass 'Thriller' performance), as well as during some more intimate moments off stage.

Tickets go on sale Sunday, Sept. 27.
