Though it's soon to premiere as part of TIFF's Midnight Madness slate, little has been seen so far of George Romero's latest zombie outing, Survival of the Dead, the thrust of which involves two rival clans on an island, one holding out for their loved ones to be cured and the other eager to eliminate anything and everything undead.

Well, the guys over at Twitch have the first clip from it, and although it's brief in length and generally comedic in tone, it's just enough to wash the taste of 2008's Diary of the Dead out of my mouth and get me interested proper in the prospect of a new Romero zombie picture.

We'll soon have a review or at least some sort of reaction to share; yours truly will have to wait a bit longer in order to give that clip some context at Fantastic Fest, but he can wait that long. After all, it's not like it's the end of the world...
