Violent British gangsters, moody French people - the cliches abound on Day 5 of the festival!

The first foreign language gala premiere in the LFF is The Father Of My Children. This French film from Mia Hansen-Love is loosely based on the life and tragic death of film producer Humbert Balsan. In fiction he is Gregoire (Louis-Do de Lencquesaing), a workaholic struggling with his finances and family life. When he reaches breaking point, it is up to his wife to try and save his cinematic back-catalogue.
