The box office receipts are in, and 'Where the Wild Things Are' is a hit. Spike Jonze's adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved children's book, about a 9-year-old boy named Max (Max Records) who sails off to a gargantuan-creature-inhabited fantasy land, raked in a better than expected $32.5 million to be crowned king of the weekend box office. And it will come as no surprise to anyone who has followed the story's journey from page to screen that it was adults and not families that accounted for the Wild Things' share of the audience.
