Assassin's Creed II, the sequel to one of the few original, break-out video game properties in recent years, came out yesterday. In anticipation of its release, Ubisoft paid to make a live-action short film that would serve as a prequel to the new game. Clocking in at 35 minutes in length, Assassin's Creed: Lineage tells the story of the titular assassin's father in 15th century Italy. From the official YouTube page:
"When the Duke of Milan is brutally murdered, the Assassin Giovanni Auditore is dispatched to investigate. The answers he uncovers implicate Italy's most powerful families reaching all the way back to the Vatican itself. As Giovanni draws closer to the truth, he becomes hunted himself. He must expose the conspirators before he joins their ever growing list of victims."
