A very interesting piece of news from Shock Til You Drop today regarding the Fright Night remake. It appears the newest plot proposal for the Dreamworks-piloted revamp would involve a meta spin. The idea is to set the remake in a world completely cognizant of the original film with the lead character having to call upon actor Chris Sarandon for help in thwarting a vampire assault. The film is being written by Marti Noxon of "Mad Mem" and "Buffy"fame and the plot has evolved quite a bit from its original concept of being set at an amusement park. Chris Sarandon, who played vampire baddie Jerry Dandrige in Tom Holland's camp classic, will be essentially fulfilling the duties of Roddy McDowell's late-night horror host character.
