John Landis is busy bringing the historical world of the underground corpse market to light in the Simon Pegg, Dan Akroyd, and David Tennant starring Burke and Hare, but that doesn't mean he's too busy to get a few more projects off the ground. Shock Till You Drop is reporting that the American Werewolf in London director will be producing Some Guy Who Kills People, a film whose title would seem to imply it's not going to be your average horror movie. And how could it be with the gentlemen Landis has assembled to creatively guide the project?

First up is the writer, Ryan Levin, whose most visible work to date would be penning the Scrubs episode in which the Janitor tries to secretly keep a pet bird in the hospital. Bringing his words to life is none other than Jack Perez. Don't recognize him? Well, he did make a little picture you might have heard of called Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus, AKA Syfy's Biggest Missed Opportunity; as well as Wild Things 2, AKA Not Wild Things 1.

While Shock has the production details, Bloody-Disgusting also offers up a little insight as to the plot about a "quiet town uprooted by a series of murders committed by someone bent on revenge", which I do believe is a rare mineral no other horror movie has ever mined before. Casting is already under way with an expected shoot date of January, so it shouldn't be too long before you can finally scratch that 'Man, I can't wait to see more movies from the Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus guy' itch.
