When you mention Ivan Reitman, most people think of Ghostbusters or Meatballs. However, before the filmmaker made either of those films (or the classic Stripes, for that matter) he directed a spoofy grindhouse-styled exploitation film for AIP. That film, entitled Cannibal Girls, has become something of a cult oddity over the years--partially due to the subject matter, but also because it hasn't ever had a large scale mainstream release.

That's about to change. Twitch is reporting that Ron Mann's Films We Like is set to bring Cannibal Girls to Blu-ray in March of 2010. The site offers the following short synopsis: "Second City TV regulars Eugene Levy and Andrea Martin star in this Canadian horror spoof as a couple on a romantic holiday who settle into a quaint little bed-and-breakfast run by a trio of flesh-eating ladies who fancy them for tomorrow's menu.

"Remember, when the WARNING BELL rings, close your eyes if you're squeemish!"

Cannibal Girls will be fully restored from 35mm reels to Blu-ray for its release.
