The folks over at the official Star Wars blog discovered this cute little piece of Christmas blasphemy, wherein the birth of Jesus Christ is witnessed by Jabba the Hutt. Star Wars fan W.H. Steele was looking for a surrogate for his missing Joseph figurine and figured Jabba would do the trick nicely.
Turns out this isn't the first Star Wars nativity scene. I found this one made from LEGO's, featuring Padme and Vader as Mary and Joseph, standing beside their twins instead of baby Jesus. Gus Lopez created a nativity with action figures, my favorite touch being the use of a tauntaun instead of the traditional camel. Arthur Hu's blog replaces the camel with a mounted dewback and also features the perplexing non-Star Wars addition of Muffit the robot dog from the original Battlestar Galactica.
How geeky are you? Would you ever consider a fanboy nativity scene as part of your regular Christmas decorations?
